Our mission for Welcoming Ministries is to engage people in a relationship with Jesus Christ by opening the doors of Christ Church to them through hospitality, worship, education and community. Welcoming Ministry Volunteers represent parishioners that are dedicated to Welcoming Ministries and are looking to engage with Newcomers and our welcoming and membership process.
Volunteer roles and descriptions are noted below with approximate time commitements. Please sign up if you are interested in serving in this important ministry. More information will be provided as a follow up to your interest.

Volunteer Descriptions:
Welcoming Volunteer: Volunteers are assigned newcomers and reach out to them by phone, email, or note. Receive occasional sign-up for Welcoming Ministries volunteer opportunities.
Monthly Sunday Greeters: Monthly greeters commit to one specific Sunday a month throughout the year, i.e. 1st Sunday, 8am Chapel. Please include in the comment section your preference.
Sunday Greeter Substitute: Greeters serve at the 8am, 10:30am, and 5pm services and arrive 15 minutes prior to the service. Greeters stand by the entrance and welcome folks as they enter the church. Greeter substitutes will receive the sign up and volunteer when able.
Welcoming Committee Member: Stakeholders who can assist with welcoming initiatives and strategy for Welcoming Ministries. Help with various Welcoming Ministries functions including Newcomer Social, Discovery, and New Member Social.
Discovery Lay Leader/Hosts: Work closely with Carrie Moore on all aspects of planning and hosting Discovery.
Discovery Table Leader: Help make participants feel welcomed and at home. Write thank you notes to table participants. Facilitate table discussions and help participants feel at ease.
Discovery Kitchen Help & Server: Assist Karen Walker in the kitchen with food prep, serving, setting up, and cleaning up for meals. Kitchen servers often greet, welcome and share a meal with the participants.
Discovery Registration Greeter: Warmly welcome and greet participants, give nametag and table number assignments.
New Member Spring Social Food Volunteer: Provide an appetizer or dessert for the New Member Social which is held in the spring at the Rector's home. Food volunteers are encouraged to attend the social and greet newcomers.
Newcomer Summer Social Registration/Greeter: Greet and register guests as they arrive.
Newcomer Summer Social Volunteer: Assist with set up and attend social to welcome newcomers
Pew Rack Ministry: In conjunction with Worship and Liturgy, Pew Warriors ensure the pew racks stay tidy and organized.
Cookie Ministry: Provide cookies (boxed or homemade) for Lemonade & Cookie Reception following the 10:30am services March - June, August - December.
